Where do you purchase your oil?

As an end user and not a corporation or mechanic shop, I just purchased 2 cases of Phillips 20W50 XC at PSC.  I got the oil for $56.40 a case but the shipping was $36.41.  I was wondering where you guys buy your oil and if there is a better deal out there somewhere.  I tried a search here but did not find anything.

Sometimes Spruce.  When I need oil quick, just don't want to wait for shipping, or want to browse, I use the local pilot shop on the field, which has a surprisingly good inventory of parts and other maintenance items most stores don't seem to carry.

This place has the best deal I’ve been able to find. Free shipping at $75, and I just order a few cases at a time. They’re very fast and have great service.

Yep, exactly. They don’t have the lowest price per case, but if shipping is zero dollars, they beat everyone else.

I buy at a nearby airport pilot shop (2W2). I think I paid $62 a case for it back in the spring. I haven’t found a better deal when shipping is considered. I do burn a few gals of LL for the short flight but their fuel is cheap as well so I fill up there as well.

That's a lot better than what I paid last week at Rider Jet in KHGR ($83!)

Oshkosh!  Then carry it home.  That said, once I run out of that case, I try to just simply call the local shop in advance to tell them I need a case and they'll get an extra one or two next time they buy oil.  Generally saves on shipping, and the extra touch point with the local shop never hurts.

This is the best place for Phillips products

IF in NE PA it is slightly less in person

I have friends there, so whenever near I purchase in person

The XC and 100 are both great lubricants and the price is the best around.

Maybe I am misremembering am earlier purchase. I usually buy 2 cases at a time.  If you haven’t been to Clearview (2W2) and you’re not deterred by a short(ish) strip, it’s worth checking out.

Aviation Oil Outlet is $64 and change, and they bring it to my front door

Often times, you can get a local petroleum jobber to order it for you and you pick it up, saves shipping. Some jobbers will discount of list price.

I am often in Peachtree City so I just swing by Spruce and save the shipping.

My local shop charges me $78/case and $26 for a filter. I don't mind him making a few bucks and it's always in stock a few hundred feet from my hangar.

Search near you for a petroleum supply company. There is one not too far from me that stocked aero shell and for a while was considerably cheaper than anything I could order. But recently prices have crept up so that’s it’s only kinda sorta worth it. If the place wasn’t near this funky bar/restaurant area I’d probably be back to ordering but YMMV.

I just fly to Falcon Field, load up 2 cases of oil, 2 filters and whatever else I need, and deliver it back to my hangar where it will be used. The flight costs about what shipping would, I get to fly, and I'll often take the crew car and get lunch. That counts for brownie points when I bring my wife along.

I purchase a case at a time from the maintenance shop that services my airplane. They are on the field at my home airport. They buy it by the pallet so it is always in stock and cheaper than I can buy it online.

By the gallon seems to be the cheapest.

I buy from the local distributor directly. They sell to public and usually have it next day or very shortly after i put in an order. No shipping, discounted pricing but I do have to drive about 30 min to get it. I also buy it in gallons for oil changes - easier and cheaper too.
