Alejandro cantarini Posted November 26, 2019 Report Posted November 26, 2019 For Bravo owners whats the easiest more affordable stand by vacuum? I still have a non functioning clutch drive rapco pump. Quote
MIm20c Posted November 26, 2019 Report Posted November 26, 2019 (edited) I’ll post to hopefully bring you back into a positive post count I would think with all the people removing the electric pump in the back it would be really cheap to replace the other system. I’ll have one for sale in the next month or so. Edited November 26, 2019 by MIm20c Quote

carusoam Posted November 26, 2019 Report Posted November 26, 2019 Probably the only thing running off the vac is the AI... If looking for the usual back-up vac pump system... that was a device built by Precise Flight, and it is mounted in the tail... If considering going digital AI... remember to take the AP into consideration... The low cost digital AIs may not support signals required by the AP... There are a few Long Body owners that are going all electric lately... The vacuum pump is slowly leaving the Mooney world.... Back-up alternators seem to be the way to go... PP thoughts only, I still have a pair of vac pumps in place... Best regards, -a- Quote
FoxMike Posted November 26, 2019 Report Posted November 26, 2019 I removed the vacuum pump and clutch from my Bravo. It was working when I removed it. I replaced it with the the standby pump that resides in the tailcone. I did this back when Parker was going nuts over a lawsuit it lost. You can have the drive and vacuum pump. I think I had about 600hrs total on the plane. The system should go many years. Quote
thinwing Posted November 26, 2019 Report Posted November 26, 2019 Same here..I removed entire vac system from my Bravo ...all working when removed...for sale Quote
Bravoman Posted November 27, 2019 Report Posted November 27, 2019 I remove my vac system too. The standby on my 98 was made by guardian and mounted on the firewall. Quote
FoxMike Posted November 28, 2019 Report Posted November 28, 2019 Here is a picture of the vacuum pump and electric clutch assembly which I removed from my Bravo several years ago. Quote
JohnB Posted November 28, 2019 Report Posted November 28, 2019 Ha! Adding to the thread of another standby and full vacuum system available. I even replaced my standby vacuum pump about a year before I took it all out and went digital. You probably have already locked one up with the other offers, but ok to pm me if not no worries! Quote
