I dig the paintjob. Why is it so cheap? Can a good Mooney20C be had for 30k these days?

No mention of engine time or condition.  So, you may have to add price of overhaul or complete engine to purchase price. No mention of damage history or lack thereof, so look the logs over carefully.  Strange that they did not claim the one piece windshield or other mods. Looks like someone cared so might be worth a look.

Accident/Incident Occurred on: 2005-02-08 Narrative: (-23) 02/09/05-ON SCENE INVESTIGATION CONDUCTED OF ACFT INCIDENT. 02/08/05 @ 1645 MOONEY, N1202X, M20C, WAS ENROUTE FROM N52 TO RUQ AND LOST POWER AT APPROXIMATELY 2,500 FEET AGL AND LANDED GEAR UP IN A CORN FIELD APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES SOUTH OF ROCKWELL, NC. ONLY VISIBLE DAMAGE WAS TO THE PROP, BENT TIPS SLIGHTLY, AND BELLY ANTENNAS TORN OFF. NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS NOTICEABLE. I think the gearup/belly landing is less a factor than was a new prop installed(bent tips)and a major overhaul acomplished after the power failure.It would be hard to believe the engine was not done at that time considering the lower end damage found on tear down..so if you can stand the yeller peril paint job...could be a good buy at 30k....esp with the 430 installed, and other mods windshields etc..my 2 cents

Old gear ups are common , The idler gear failure may have been fixed without tear down , if the damage was localized it may have had an accesory case and gears , the engine shut down when the gear failed...(no mags turning) ...  But you can get a lot of mooney for the money now ..  good luck
