NJMac Posted June 30, 2018 Report Posted June 30, 2018 Anyone have a diagram for where these factory supplied insulation panels go in my M20E? I got these 6 weeks ago but like a genius I put the box aside and didnt look thru the contents . Interior is getting reassembled next week and id like to get it insulated today. NJMac Posted June 30, 2018 Author Report Posted June 30, 2018 Kudos to Don Maxwell for pointing this beggar to the right place. Here is it, hope it helps someone else in the future. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk 2 Quote
NJMac Posted June 30, 2018 Author Report Posted June 30, 2018 Follow up post pending on Monday after i hear back from air mods. It seems these 2 part numbers I ordered for roughly $700 are only "insulating" the side walls. They're researching if its just for noise. I wanted to warm it up in the winter and was expecting the ceiling to get insulation too. If its just noise abatement ill be sending it back. For the pricing I was pretty disappointed on what i actually got. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Quote
RLCarter Posted July 1, 2018 Report Posted July 1, 2018 The insulation also cuts down on the harmonics of the skins. The closed cell foam doesn't hold moister like the original fiberglass, I did the roll your own on the closed cell, walls and headliner, 1/2" all the way around. Most of the noise comes thru the firewall, as far as temps go me E is hot in the summer and cold in the winter 1 Quote
NJMac Posted July 7, 2018 Author Report Posted July 7, 2018 I gave up on returning the kit and decided to play Tetris last night. No way would I spend the $700 again for the factory "kit". The pre cut pieces only fit where they were intended less than 50%. The rest I just eye balled and cut with my pocket knife. Id save some dough and buy regular closed cell from Spruce if i had it to do over again. At least I did my part this month in keeping the factory going....Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Quote
0TreeLemur Posted July 7, 2018 Report Posted July 7, 2018 Wow, that looks like a lot of work. Irregular tetris at best. Question- some of the insulation in my a/c is coming unstuck. What are you using for adhesive? Quote
NJMac Posted July 7, 2018 Author Report Posted July 7, 2018 Honestly, there were a couple pieces that didn't want to stick that well. Since it was 11:00 at night, I figured the headliner would hold it and I just went home. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you Wow, that looks like a lot of work. Irregular tetris at best.
