well my 800 hour 8 year tail pipe just failed inspection. enclosed are some pictures that my mechanic sent me.  I have to do remote mx so I cant tell anything else myself.  Some sort of hole worked its way into an area that the mechanic said nothing is really rubbing on.  The area around the hole seemed very worn down he said....

The first pic is a picture looking up through the pipe with a flashlight shinning down on the side of it....

Second you can barely see the worn away metal in the center of the second picture....this is where the light was held to

he said the pipe was very brittle...

Thoughts?

As A64 says, when the metal gets that thin repair is difficult.  What is pin holes today could become a large hole very soon.  

I’m sure I have a serviceable straight-style tailpipe that was rebuilt to new condition by Knisley.  If you’re interested, send me a pm…
