After the recent annual and a bit of education by the A&P on corrosion prevention, I set out to do some readings on the topic. I know misting the entire plane is a good idea every 3 years depending on the product but am curious what do you guys do in the mean time? Spot treating on the most susceptible area? If so where, how often, and with what? Photos will be nice! :)

Corrosion X every 2yrs and the occasional wash/wax not much else you need to do.  My 2 cents.

Corrosion X or ACF every 2-3 years EXCEPT if you are planning on painting your plane. Have had several paint shops tell me painting after a corrosion prevention treatment is the best way to be unhappy with your paint shop and paint job.

C-X every two years while my C was parked outside...

The stuff knows how to seep into tight spots like rivets.  Makes them look like they are smoking.

A quick wash cleans them up.

I've heard that corrosion-X is not the best choice because it can seep into rivets and allow them to rotate, exposing fresh metal and allow for intergranular corrosion to start.

No, the risk from corrosion caused by loosening rivets is far less than the risk from corrosion from normal causes. I'm not sure where the seeping of Corrosion-X from rivets turned into loosening rivets, bearing failure in rivet lines, and intergranular corrosion, but those are all not seen on these types of planes.
