A friend of mine recently took a day and flew touch and go's at 37 airports for the fun of it.  Looked like great way to spend a day and practice flying. I have done Poker Runs in aircraft before but never more than a half dozen airports.

Has anyone tried that in a Mooney?  How many airports have you landed at in a day?

I have done 5 different airports in one day in my Mooney, it was a fly-in and poker run.  In other planes flying with students I have done more than 37 landings, but not at different airports.

The most airports I have done in a day is four and that was during my transition training in the Mooney. Went airport hopping one night just for the repetitive practice of take off, climb, cruise, descent, landing. Looking back at my logbook and the most landings in a day was 12 a couple of different times during my PPL training.

37 different airports in a day makes me tired just thinking about it...

I think it's a neat challenge, but I'd be worried about fatigue.  37 landings is a lot in one day, especially with distance between airports on the way.  Hot day, cold day, windy, etc . . .

I've had 10-15 landings in one day, but not 37.

That's impressive. My best is 6 airports in a day. The trip was completed in four airplanes: Two 737s (courtesy of Southwest), a Comanche, and a Mooney. Birmingham - Midway - Detroit Metro - Willow Run - DuPont Lapeer - Shelby Co, AL. 1,368 nm. Started at 6 AM and was home at 4:15 PM. The last leg was my first flight in my Mooney (615 nm). b1acedf13c729a11ac7ef272fe1a0c99.png

5 during transition training.  I can't imagine doing 37 in a row.  That would get either mind numbing or exhausting.  I am not sure which, and I don't intent to find out.
