Oh. Your in Smithville. Now I get it. I should have looked that up on the Mooney Map. ;)

I've actually listed myself as Austin on the Mooney Map.

I have asked this before. How far is too far till it is not feasible?

The plane is 3 minutes away from that house,  But an hour away from the other house.   There has been a couple of times where I had to drive an hour to fly several hours.  Texas is a big state so getting around it does seem t take mooney speed to make it smaller.

I feel the urge to rub it in... we live 10 minutes from our private $250/mo. hangar at KMRN. I drive by the AGL Aviation hangar to get to mine. Actually, I usually stop by there to bother Lynn and Tamara and to check out whose Mooneys are there.

Time of day has no effect on drive time.

I had to fly 2+45 to put my plane in Lynn's hangar, and Bob was out of town...

Is anyone familiar with the airports/hangar situation in the Austin, TX area?  There's a good chance I will be moving there from Los Angeles in the next two months and I'd like to get a jump on finding a new home for my bird.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you get desperate, I have a hangar in Hearne, KLHB I would possibly consider renting on a month to month basis ($235).

Best part of living in TX is flying OVER Austin and thanking your lucky stars for owning a Mooney.  But then I'm an Aggie, life best lived east of the Brazos.

Sorry about that... but I'm happy to know that "we" provided a ride home. I did tell @Marcopolo and @AGL Aviationthat I'd be happy to come get you if Ron can't for some reason.

I'll be interested in your PIREP on the CYA 100 AoA. I like mine but I don't have anything to compare it to and I know you fly AoA all the time.

My blood pressure goes down when I get west of the Brazos, but still east of the Colorado.   It is laughable how much Hearne School board shows up on the news for their antics.   Like a soap opera.

Try Spicewood (K88R)  It is about a 40 minute drive from downtown Austin, about 30 minutes west of Barton Creek off hwy 71.  Runway is recently paved and 4300 feet long.  Growing community with about 75 hangars now and 3-5 new ones each year and about 150 based aircraft.

Mooney people, I have a T-hangar at KGTU that needs an airplane.

Mine got crashed (darn partners), but I need to keep the hangar for future use (probably 2+ years away).

So, if you need a KGTU standard size T-hangar, please let me know ASAP.
