Early J's have a squat switch on the left main gear. Later they went to an airspeed switch behind the ASI.

IIRC only the '77 J's have the squat switch. My '78 doesn't and also lacks all the associated hardware and wiring.

I don't recall exactly, but think it is in the neighborhood of 60 knots or so. Adjustable slightly, and easily damaged during pitot static checks.

My '79 has the airspeed switch.  We overhauled the asi a few years ago and the shop forgot to adjust it before I departed.  I had to return and after spending 15 min on the phone with the local MSC (Joey Cole) they were able to get it adjusted in about an hour.  IIRC, it was set to between 75 and 80 MPH.

The service manual describes the squat versus airspeed switch.  The change to airspeed switch happened in ~ mid SN 1977 J models.
