well folks, I'm back after a hiatus of 3-4 weeks.  I started a thread on looking for a Bravo to commute to republic airfield on long Island from Burlington VT.  Got much good advice and am just updating in case anybody cares:).

After sitting in a long body mooney and an A36 I have signed a pre purchase agreement for the beechcraft.  I flew the A36 and loved it.  I never flew the mooney but am sure I would have loved it also.  However, I have 3 teenage girls and someday a girlfriend (maybe :) ) so the space of the A36 compared to the mooney was the deciding vote.

I just wanted to thank everybody on this site, and Beechtalk, and COPA, for all the valuable insight!  As I get familiar with my new to me airplane I will return the favor.  As I mentioned I am a member of ABS, MAPA, and COPA and the minimal fees associated with them are minimal compared to the the wealth of information available.  Once again, thanks for all the help, I close on Wednesday!

I will continue to lurk here, still love the mooney lines!

Bob, did I meet you at BTV about a month ago?  With Hobie?  I met someone considering a mooney or a bonanza and maybe it was you.

I'm sure you will have a great experience with the Beech, if you need an SUV you should by an SUV. Bonanzas are fine airplanes.

hope it all goes well for you.

I have twins so I will face the back seat/useful load dilemma one day soon - in the mean time Ovation.

I've flown into FRG lots and I recommend Sheltair. I even negotiated better parking rates due to the frequency of my visits at the time.

Finally, I am living just north of Brattleboro VT, so wave as ya fly over on that route of flight! Good luck!

PS, there isn't much for emergency landing sites if you go direct; if I were flying that route id consider LEB BDL...

All I can say is "We can't save them all." emoji38.png Good luck with the Beech.

I was with a few Beech buddies of mine over the holidays doing some hanger flying. They all have fine airplanes, we were discussing costs which led to R/M and parts. While my Bravo is not cheap to maintain it was surprising how much more there costs are in relation to our Mooneys. I don't know if it's fleetwide or isolated?

Bob, pretty sure our paths crossed in the AF...good choice, nice plane, enjoy it! I use mine to commute as well! My daughter, wife and bags fit just fine in mine.  You will be able to load a house in that Bo!
