I was asked by a few folks what the weight gain or loss was for my new interior. I had the whole thing redone, including panels, carpet, yolks etc. the overall difference in weight was +5 lbs. I would say that was pretty darn good! In other words negligible to my weight carrying capacity from my original interior. I will get the 5 lbs back when I go to a lighter and better battery in the future when my current one kicks the bucket.

Overall Aerocomfort was fabulous to work with, on time, and the job was as good or better than my German engineering toy at home.

what battery that weighs 5 lbs less you have in mind ?

I have an A&P friend that mentioned the battery, don't remember the brand but it was a glassmatt type and it weighed about 5lbs less. Sorry can't do better than that right now...

How did you get the head rests?

I would really like to have those and an up / down adjustable right seat.

tt is actuallly easy, I got it now on my seat's while they were redone couple of weeks ago, make sure the holes and tubings are there to start with, you can check that by runnning your fingers on the top of the seatback and if you feel 2 holes, you most probably got the headrest option there.

Then go to an automtive shop or scrapyard and get 2 old headrest that you like, the tough part is making sure the rods are the right size, then have someone put new foam and cover them with the same leather or cloth you have on your seats.

Mine go up and stay up where I need them, but they don't actually click to lock, it's more of a tight fit that keeps them in place, I'm really happy with them.

This is exactly the process that my upolstrer did for me, and here are the results...

Beautiful. I was happy with Aerocomfort. My A&P said that he was skeptical when I told him I was going to ship everything down to them for recovering. But when he got it all back, he said it was the best work and easiest to reinstall that he'd ever seen.

RocketAviator, I had a surprise though for the passenger seat bench, even though the holes were there, the required support tubing inside was not. It can be purchased from a Mooney supplier for under 75$, but in my case, the back bench was already covered and it would be too much labor to remove it and fix that.

Oh, I think it is just a standard battery he is talking about. The price of a new battery plus the price of his interior will lighten his wallet by about 5 pounds, I believe. There is his gain
