My Nexus7 keeps asking me if I want to Install Tapatalk. Do I need this app or no? How is it superior?

I've not used Tapatalk, but I know that it supposedly makes interacting with online forums easier for mobile devices, and I believe it even makes them all look and behave the same way on your device. I plan to try it out.

I use and recommend it on my iPhone and iPad's.

It remembers what you've read, so you only see a thread when there is a new post, and it does this across multiple devices. I wish all forums worked with it.

It's my preferred way of using the site. Much faster. I also use it for the EAA and PoA forums.

This is how it looks on my Droid phone, droid tablet and iPad mini, without using Tapatalk. What benefits are there for using Tapatalk that I'm not experiencing without it?

When Tapatalk support was 1st added the big advantage was that it would allow you to post pictures from an Apple device. With the newer IOS versions Tapatalk isn't necessary to post pictures, you can do it directly from the web browser.
