Hank Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 Wow! Talk about second effort, this humble man certainly deserves thanks and recognition. http://www.walb.com/story/25464976/www.walb.com Landed his plane in a field, swam across the river and provided first aid for 40 minutes until EMTs arrived, keeping the injured, trapped, semi-conscious pilot alive. I'm in awe . . . . Never seen a plane crash, but I've watch two cars wreck in front of me, and stopped to help. No injuries in either. All I had to do was walk a few yards. Rick Finney worked to get there so he could help. 1
TWinter Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 Happened just about twenty minutes from my hometown FBO . Somebody said that he made a radio call referencing needing to refuel. Not sure if that was factual or not, but that's a pretty easy field to get in and out of. I'll be curious to hear the actual findings. Wishing him the best.
Yetti Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 Looks like the rescuer was flying a Mooney. Nice job.
scottfromiowa Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 I think above the call of duty is appropriate for this save. Well done sir.
