sbethune Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 Hi Ben.  If you haven't, you might contact Wolfe Aviation in Stockton.  They have two sleds, one is mine.  Verlyn is the broker, and easy to talk to.  Best of luck.  My ownership experience has been fantastic.  Looking to upgrade within the Mooney family.  SB Quote
benpilot Posted February 24, 2014 Author Report Posted February 24, 2014 I've called Verlyn to see the 252 and he never followed up with me :-( Quote
WorldWiseTrade Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Just picked up a fantastic 252, about 1100TT and 400 SMOH. Im looking for G1000, A/C, and TKS, so will sell to upgrade, if I find what I'm looking for. Contact me anytime to discuss. Quote
sbethune Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Ben - Â I'm sorry you had trouble connecting. Â Â It shouldn't be a problem to arrange an inspection. Â I'll forward your request. Â Meanwhile, the data and images online are quite accurate. Â Best of luck, Â SB Quote
benpilot Posted February 24, 2014 Author Report Posted February 24, 2014 Â Thanks gents, PM sent. Well after taxes the bonus will cover 1/3 of the cost so no complaints :-) Quote

Wakeup Posted February 25, 2014 Report Posted February 25, 2014 I didn't even get a turkey for Thanksgiving or Christmas at my job and I am pretty important. Lol Quote
Hank Posted February 25, 2014 Report Posted February 25, 2014 I didn't even get a turkey for Thanksgiving or Christmas at my job and I am pretty important. Lol  Don't worry about that--my boss let me go the week before Thanksgiving. I'm now happily working far south of snow country.   Just need to bum a ride back up to bring the plane down . . . Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted February 25, 2014 Report Posted February 25, 2014 I'm in the wrong line of work... whats a bonus?? It's a form of compensation most recently available to new airline pilots. American Eagle is offering a $5000 bonus if you agree to fly for them for two years. =) Quote

American Eagle is offering a $5000 bonus if you agree to fly for them for two years. =) They may call it a 'bonus' but it's really an inducement, a come-on, a bribe for 2 years of mandatory, indentured servitude. But better than nothing. Good luck Parker. 1 Quote

KSMooniac Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 I read an article last week that indicated Eagle will be out of the flying business soon... Don't do it! Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk Quote

Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk Correct....a territorial ALPA union squabble. I Mentioned it to Parker last week so he knows about it. That $5k and some jet time, based at home, probably looks very attractive until something better comes along. Quote

Except that the airline world is still dominated by unions, and the $5k is peanuts compared to potentially losing two years of seniority in a better system. Â I still wonder why that life is even remotely tempting to anyone these days. Â The unions, airline management and TSA have removed all of the fun, pay, and dignity from that profession. Quote

I still wonder why that life is even remotely tempting to anyone these days. The unions, airline management and TSA have removed all of the fun, pay, and dignity from that profession. There's going to be some quick attrition. It ain't any easy few years paying the dues, but a quick jump to a mainline carrier or a place like Spirit wouldn't be such a bad deal. Spirit reserve is the best thing going...seriously. Regardless, it's time burning some jet fuel...even if flying at Eagle evaporates, it can open a lot of doors. ...and of course my real business is paying the bills and can afford me a peanut-paying job. We'll see where things go! Quote
fantom Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 We'll see where things go!  How about the 325th Fighter Wing at Tyndall AFB in Panama City, FL, doing some real flying  1 Quote
fantom Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Parker...you'll get some fantastic precision flying experience, formation will be a breeze, and you'll find the service pays some real bonus $ if you re-up. Of course with the military being cut back to pre WW-II levels, you may have to learn Chinese or Russian. Â Quote
benpilot Posted February 27, 2014 Author Report Posted February 27, 2014 I wouldn't complain if someone gave me free training in type and use of one of these fighter jets Quote
