AVare app for droids

Anyone playing with Avare yet? My wife found it and put it on her Nexus and I put it on my droid phone. Looks as good as my I FLY 700 which I am comparing it with AND all the charts  and plates are free! It's being done by some computer geeks on a volunteer basis and gets updates about very day or 2 but it works fine. Still testing but impressed.

Wonder how it will work with a Blue Tooth GPS like Bad Elf.  This begins to look affordable.  I went to  the Avare web site and could not quite figure out how to get started.

Works good on my droid

I love Avare! I have been using it for some time now and you can't beat the best feature. It's FREE!!!  When I first started using it, it was kind of glitchy but you email the developer and he makes corrections fairly quick and pushes the updates throgh google play store. The interface might not have quick access feature such as the Ifly at this time but at the end of the day it is free. When my selected pubs expire everything shows up in red. All I do is press a button and it downloads all my pubs.

I just made a mount that goes in the corner of the left window just by the ice window (ice window still works) for my droid phone and I'll be using it on a trip tomorrow to see how it all works out that way instead of holding it.

 

It looks like the guys doing this are just doing it for fun right now. All volunteer effort. I'm going to donate some money just to help them and see where this goes (I have NO connection with them at all). They evidently had someone donate an ADBS system to then so they could play with the coding for that also. 

 

This might turn out to be something good.
