  1. The tank reseal is holding up like a champ my friend. Never got around to doing the left one because I decided to fly her more this year rather than being a picky OCD owner I've been flying close to 10 hours a week lately. God I love that Mooney!!!! I'm super sad to let her go. Her new owner will be picking her up soon and every time I fly her I regret it a little more. I'm only letting her go because I'm about to retire so that I can enjoy some family time after 20 years in the Army. Taking a huge pay cut wasn't an easy decision but I'm ready to enjoy the family not that I'm getting old. Lol! Besides, the pay cut will only be for a few years and I'll be back on track. I'll be able to buy another Mooney then. Maybe a J model this time Thank you for being one of the most amazing people who made owning a Mooney a great experience bud Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  2. Hank, I’ve been on this page for years. I’m sure you’ve come across some of my projects on my Mooney. I think the best experience of owning a Mooney has been the amazing and helpful folks I’ve met through this page. The have always been willing to help. I have flown my steed for 7 years without issues and an amazing flying machine such as the Mooney doesn’t require a degree. If you want something challenging, try helicopters. Not targeting anyone in particular but I’ve stopped visiting this page for awhile because I noticed it sadly became a heckling arena where only a few have ruined the experience for me. I have spoken to several other Mooney pilots in my current and last duty station and they feel the same. I might be the only one to publicly admit it but it’s a shame how a few can ruin it for the rest. Hopefully these Mooney gods will bring peace into this realm once again. 3. Is there a remote switch for it that I can actuate from the cockpit? Lol! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  4. Not on my Ranger POH. I'll make sure to pencil that one in from now on. Thanks for the info. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  5. Never got a transition training. Just logged 5 hours of burning holes in the sky. Had to learn everything on my own by reading the manuals and asking this amazing mooniac community Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  6. During preflight I noticed there was a small button popped near the left wing root leading edge. I tried pressing it in and it is spring loaded back. Does anyone know the purpose for this button? I just don't remember noticing it before. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  7. I sprayed Arid as you suggested and it worked like a charm The leak is coming from the prop seal still. I will be ordering the oversized seal. Do you know what the oversized seal part number is by any chance? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  8. I had the same thing happen to me a couple of years ago while cranking. As soon as I punched the part number into Google, a bunch of links popped up with a service bulletin that talks about this happening. The SB calls for the replacement off all three cables, so I did. 9. Awesome! I will give that a shot. Thanks a bunch. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  10. These pics are terrible and you can't see the oil well enough because of the flash but here they are. I also can't take a pic directly of the seal. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks for the suggestion Yetti. I'll bring that up to the MX. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  12. It's the seal behind where the prop attaches to. It has a spring that is installed in it. I'm beginning to suspect that maybe there's another source. I'll wash the area down really good and fly her to the MX to try pin pointing the source. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  13. Did what you suggested and it did not spin. The left side was pretty dry but the right side was very wet. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  14. Yes, the crankshaft seal O ring. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  15. I've had a prop seal leak for some time but not bad enough that it was a concern. I had it replaced last week because I'm flying at night more often and I could not see clearly during landings because of the thin oily film on the windshield. After it was replaced I flew the aircraft a few days later on a 9 hour cross country. During the first 4.5 hours I didn't notice any leaks. On my way back I noticed it began to leak and by the time I put her to bed I noticed the seal was there again. Has this happened to anyone before? Thoughts?
