Are you planning on trying to do this yourself?

Who ever does it, please please please, don't use silicone to seal the windows....whoever did mine right before I bought the plane used silicone and I had to make sure that it was all cleaned from the outside before I had the plane painted....

I recently had my interior and windows replaced.  I paid to have it done...Here's the link to the post that details the process.  It's not hard but time consuming.  My time is worth more than I would have saved...but that's just me.

So for $3K I got a Mooney service center to install all new side glass, 201 picture window mod which replaced the 3 piece windows in my F, SS hardware, the correct sealant.

Just the glass portion of the mod was $1K plus sealant and hardware, so for 1800ish in labor all I had to do was drop it off and wait a few days.

Good luck if you try to tackle it yourself...I doesn't look hard, just time comsuming to do right

Duh i forgot i had posted this, sorry for asking things over and over thanks for the pics. It looks quite simple to do i think. I will have the interior out for a redo when i do it so i will have about two weeks to do it in. But still looking to tips from anyone that has allready done this themselves, was told by lasar that they would not recomend me doing the picture window myself, it looks a lot nicer, does it improve the view. Did you notice a significant diffence in the back with the new picture window?

View is about the same...but it is nice to have the third post gone for rear seat passengers...Which I almost always have.  Also it gives the plane a much more "modern" 201 look.  I would recommned going with the 1/4 UV plexi and sound proof the interior while it's out.  The thicker windows and the sound proofing really quited down the interior of my plane.  I can actually have a conversation at cruise powersettings with no headsets on.  It really is nice and the wieght gain was minimal after taking out all the old 70's material.  Skytec goes in next week so I'll acutally be about 7-10lbs lighter than I was with the old interior, glass and starter.

I have new windows on my list of to-do's for this year. I've been looking at Vantage plane plastics as a source. They not only have windows, but quite a bit (if not all) if the interior plastics. They have an 800 support line as well. You might want to check them out. http://www.planeplastics.com
