231Pilot Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 I wanted to create a forum for Mooney Dentists, haven't figured out how yet. How many of you are Mooney Pilots and Dentists? I think there might be quite a few of us. Quote
Buster1 Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 Is it okay if I'm not a fan of the dentist??;-) Though lately, he's been giving me high marks. Nothing personal Lew! Quote
231Pilot Posted January 30, 2010 Author Report Posted January 30, 2010 It's OK. If you are getting high marks, you should have nothing to dislike in our offices. I no longer practice. I have been teaching at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry since Katrina destroyed my home and office on the MS Gulf Coast. Now the students are a bit more afraid of me than the patients are...but if they are prepared they have no reason to be. Quote

2thDoc Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 I'm new here and a dentist. Located in Ocala, FL (KOCF). No Mooney as of yet...looking and waiting for the right set of circumstances to line up. Looking for a nice M20E or F with some solid IFR avionics. Been practicing general dentistry for about 10 years now. Quote
TonyTDMD Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 I am a Dentist in East Tn. (Johnson City area), and have been practicing for 11 years (ULSD '99). I fly an 87 252, and love it! www.graystationsmiles.com Quote
231Pilot Posted February 4, 2010 Author Report Posted February 4, 2010 Beautiful aircraft Tony. The 252 is considered by many (me included) to be one of the best to ever come out of Kerrville. I graduated from UMMC in '86, practiced general dentistry on the MS gulf coast until Katrina. Now I teach restorative dentistry, mostly Fixed Prosth, but some removable and operative too. Practiced almost 20 years. Quote
MooneyMitch Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Tony. Your 252 is gorgeous! I really like the 252 and came close in my Mooney search. They were a bit out of my budget range at that time. Thanks for sharing that photo. By the way............I have this one tooth........................ha. Quote

Piloto Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 My dentist took away my dream of having a Garmin 696. It happened when I had a strong tooth ache. My health insurance has no dental coverage so I had to pay $3500 for a root canal recommended by the dentist. Was this too much? With my money the dentist got a 60" HDTV while all I got was crown that I almost swallow when it fell off. He re attached at no charge and gave me a Loly-Pop. José Quote

Buster1 Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 If he was a good dentist he would have installed XM Wx in your tooth. ;-) Quote
231Pilot Posted February 18, 2010 Author Report Posted February 18, 2010 Wish I'd thought of that....could have saved $$$$ on my WSI unit Quote

2thDoc Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Yeah, the wire benders (orthodontists) like to make kids look ridiculous with headgear. Living in Ocala, FL, most of my patients are a little...uhh...advanced...for ortho and headgear. LOL..yeah, I've been using 2thDoc on various forums for years now... Quote

With great respect for you all [dentists] that can help make us feel better [when we are in great pain like no other] and make us look better too!.....................I have to share this funny with you. We had the fun experience of seeing comedian Ron White last Thursday night. One of his stories was he had broken a tooth on the edge of a swimming pool. Ron's dentist fixed the problem and suggested installing the latest and greatest veneers on his teeth. Ron asked what the cost would be.................the dentists response was, $47,500.00!! Ron shot back, in his sarcastic and big toothy grin style.................."how much is dental school?" Quote
