My cht's are 350-360 max. My FF 24.5 at takeoff, 36/2700. Mine wont run LOP either, it gets very rough, so I just run 75 Rich. I dont think GAMI makes injectors for this installation (252's excluded for some reason).

I use the heck out of my pre-select in my 252, but I had an avionics shop quote me 18,000$ for the new Garmin G500 installed, so that probably makes alot more sense than installing a 297. Mine just happened to come with one from the factory.

I bought my first plane, a 67 F model, when I was 25 hours into my private pilot training. Starting early in a mooney makes alot of sense, as long as your instructor knows mooneys. I did all of my IFR and alot of my private training in a mooney, and I think it made me a better pilot. Getting cross country time is tough though, because you get where you are going so fast! Sure teaches you speed and altitude management.
