Still, thats insanity. You can buy a whole crashed newer Mooney for a not a whole lot more. Or have Mooney build you some for less brand new.

Really???? Comfort Aero will provide a completely new all leather interior for $11K. And that's doing the installation for you. Good luck getting that price... or even half that.

These are out of an S model. Does an S model use the same track as the F or J? Would you have to change the track?

Also, I don't think these would be legal in an F or a J without a 337 and field approval. That adds additional cost too.

So starting at $10.5K and going up from there....wow...somebody's smokin' sumthin!

They are for sale by Aero Comfort

If that's the case, maybe a quick email to Hector might clear things up...

I believe Mooney charges $3,500 for the articulating seat frame alone (they don't keep them in stock and are/were built custom). Given that price, this offer represents a bargain.

Of course if a person could find a seat frame from a scrapyard (which is just about impossible as I've tried to locate one myself), then a lot could be saved.

Go for the 'bargain', Mike

Didn't we see the V-Tail Empennage kit being assembled at the factory we toured it during the convention? :)

This is ridiculous. How many extra knots you are going to get from a $10K seat. For much less than $2K you can get a nice powered La-Z-Boy recliner, a vibrator/massager and a side table for your favorite drink to watch Top Gun on your new 70" HDTV with your grand kid on your lap. :)

Try $13,000 per seat. When I was in the middle of an interior upgrade on my previous Mooney, someone told me that new seats from Mooney were about the same price as getting them re-foamed and re-upholstered. I didn't believe it, but called Mooney anyway to see.

And at that price there is no market. Mooney could make a fortune charging reasonable prices for parts and upgrades.

They have been told that for at least a decade, and still no movement. It's a sad enigma. :(

I agree as well. It boggles my mind why Mooney was charging crazy-high prices for interior updates when the vast majority of the fleet is worth $40-$100k. No sane owner is going to spend $25k on interior.... And it's not like they have high overhead or are located in a high-wage/high-tax location, either.

Perhaps someone from Mooney can comment, but I read a report that Mooney basically created a new entity, and foreclosed on themselves, blowing out a major part of the debt, or all of it, in the process. If they can't make money with a free factory, then just let me know, I'll go buy a Beech. The lady who makes ailerons says it takes 3 days to make one. At 20$ an hour, lets call it 30$ all in, thats 720$ in labor. Yet an aileron is $3800 and half the Mooneys I see need a pair. GIANT DISCONECT.

That's what wrong with ga. Until liability limits and lawsuits are put in check. Nothing will change. Are they trying to pay the entire months liability premium with selling one part?
