67 M20F - Fresh Air Boost

My fresh air boost knob keeps walking out during flight - I keep pushing it back shut when I'm low - has anyone else addressed this problem and would like to know how to correct.

Does the knob have the push button in the middle of it? If it does, it could be that the little tiny ball bearing in it that makes the brake for it is either missing, or really worn. It might be possible to fix it, but you might also need a new cable.

I don't know how bad the situation is, but if it's constantly opening, you might want to use duct tape or that high speed tape to tape over the inlet on the front of the cowl until you can get it fixed. Running with no Ram Air is fine, but dirty air is not.
