Hey there, I've got a 201 that Im currently restoring and was taking the wing inspection panels off for cleaning and noticed very light surface corrossion throughout the wing, I was wondering if this is common for a late 70's mooney and if its fine or if it needs attention, Ive attached pictures, any comments would be much appreciated.

Chris: i would clean that up and perhaps even coat the internal portion of the wing with some sort of inhibitor since you already have them apart

Nothing to worry about, it is very common on that vintage. Recommend to check bottom wing spar cap at cenetr section. If plane is park outside this is where all the moisture collect. Also check cabin side structural tube members. Wheel wells spar section are prone to corrosion, check vertical stiffners. Spray these areas with a corrosion inhibitor at annual time.
