I live on an airpark and a 1.25 acre lot goes for $400,000 just for the dirt. And they have 10 people deep lining up to buy the last 15 lots for sale it’s crazy.

That’s pretty impressive - must be the exception rather than the rule though. The airparks around here seem mostly to have a lot of available lots that aren’t moving at all.

Likewise.  Naper Aero (west ‘burbs of Chicago) is fully built out, and existing homes sell off-market in a matter of days.

We are the closest airpark to the dfw area and unlike other airparks i have seen we have ton’s of trees and our roads are hilly and swerving not the best for airplanes to taxi on but makes the area not look like the standard square airparks with little trees and houses just around the runway. These last 15 lots are it as we are now land locked with all other areas already bought for other developments. I couldn’t afford to buy in here now. My parents bought our lot in 1978 for $15k

Heaven’s Landing here in North Georgia appears to be just about sold out. I think their lots start at 125amu for a half acre. I need to drop in and see what it’s like.

I think the editorial content of AC has declined.

Then you have AVWeb where they have a 20 something GenZ writing the articles like they are for Axios and in her bio she says she has a private pilots license and likes to fly her parent's Ttx in Colorado. I'm guessing the teddy bears are still on the bed too.

I wonder if that was part of the reason why Paul Bertorelli decided to retire.

I miss his articles.

I have no doubt. He was a gem but this new girl I am sure has a lot of editorial experience with the community college newspaper.

I have no doubt my flying would severely drop if i had to drive to an airport to go fly. The convenience of having your plane at your house makes going for a flight just as easy and quick as getting into your car. (Well almost as i don’t precheck my car like i do a preflight for my plane) but as another analogy it’s like the difference in having a workout gym in your house as apposed  to driving to the gym, you tend to do more workouts when it’s a 2 min walk to the room compared to a 15 to 20 min drive to the gym.
