Anybody know where this hose goes to?

Also, this switch on the carb (I think its the landing gear warning) the two wires are disconected from the switch. Does it matter which way the go?

And as far as all the oil you see, I already fixed that. It appears our super star mechanic safety wired the oil tube backwards. I have now tightened it and resafety wired it.

66, don't know what it connects to, I am a newbie, student pilot just taking care of what was missed on the annual inspection. I have found this forum to be helpful.

Luckily my instructor is an a&p.

Mines a 66 M20C also. That switch should be mounted inside the cockpit behind the instrument panel on your throttle cable. I'll get a picture of mine as I recently rigged it to get the gear warning to come on per the book. Your throttle cable in your picture appears to be incorrect. much like mine was. I'll take a picture of the bracket and how it attaches. I have an idea where that hose goes, but I'll get pictures of mine for you to compare.

3 places I'd check on the hose are the landing light, generator and air box.  If it's the air box  the open end of the hose exits out the left cowl flap.  That's if it's a 1 1/4'' hose.

Well, it's not how it should be. I found mine when I couldn't get it to idle down and found a similiar clamp arrangement as yours. My throttle cable was slipping in an oil soaked clamp. I think the bracket you need is P/N 660044 which will pick up two of the studs from the prop governor and then one clamp to the throttle cable. I'll post pictures of mine tomorrow as it's fairly new. That switch is definitely in the wrong place. It belongs inside the cockpit and the roller is actuated by the throttle cable through a slot in the cable housing. Again, I'll post a picture as that will show it better than I can explain it.

As an A&P, I'd recommend you install the correct parts and move the switch to where it belongs. The manual isn't very clear on these items, so the pictures I'll get tomorrow should help you get it back to original. Hope this helps!

The pictures didn't want to attach to my post so I posted them in my gallery. Look at my photo gallery for detail pictures in the areas you had questions.

Hope they help!

If I recall correctly, my airbox does not have the scat tubing attached. I wonder how important that really is...

Mine didn't have hose on it until I did my first annual. It directs warm air out the cowl flap when carb heat is not being used if I remember correctly.

Hi Rob,

I doubt that it makes much of a difference other than maybe helping direct exhaust fumes out if you had a leaky muffler. Since I knew about it, I feel bound being an A&P/IA to install it. I'm still finding little items that aren't quite right. I'll be using my Mooney for some future STC's and I don't want an inspector to find something trivial that I should have found.
