Yep. Had it inspected ar LASAR. But home base was in Washington.

I think I flew that plane. I was hired to ferry it from SC to Washington. The gear wouldn’t come up and it was leaking oil. We canceled the trip. That plane is actually in good shape. It had some minor issues.

So excited tonget this thing home to Akron, Ohio

Enjoy! I remember bringing my plane home to WA. Fun journey but more fun to plan out all the upcoming trips. Welcome aboard!

It checked out pretty well. They found a few things in the inspection. Owner is covering those and we’ll be in business. From what they had to say at the shop, it’s a good plane. Nothing is cheap in aviation, but overall we’re happy with how it turned out. Should have it back here over the weekend.

Congrats! Depending on avionics - start saving money for it now :-)

We’re already looking at that. The plan is to fly with what we have for a bit then make decisions, but we know we’ll be updating avionics.

I can do that down low but 10k and above it starts to get rough. (Cooler more dense air effectively increasing my LOP? Also speed starts dropping off more at higher altitudes at 2300 compared to 2500 and for some reason my CHT’s seem to go up more than when at 2500. Don’t understand that but i know my setting is good for all altitudes up to 20k. At 22k in the summer i have to crack the cowl flaps a little to keep the cylinders at 380.

Interesting.  Higher altitude, the air is cooler, but less dense.  So turbo is working harder to make the manifold pressure, with the compressor discharge temp will go up.  And the intercooler will not work as well due to hotter air input and lower density of cooling air.

I will try 2400 RPM.

Never too early to start planning.

1)  It will take you 7 - 9 months to get a slot at a quality avionics shop.

2)  Due to lead times, you need the major things figured out, so the shop can order them so they are in stock when your slot comes due.

3)  You will do a lot of what about? What If. Wouldn't this be nice?

I started the process before I even picked up my plane.  I flew is for close to a year before I booked the avionics shop.  And then waited for my slot to open about 18 - 19 months after I was flying my plane.  I just came out of the shop last week.  A bit over 22 months after I picked it up.

First step is the Annual. Couldn’t finish that up before we brought it home. Have a great mechanic and IA walking us through an owner assisted. Learning a lot.

Anyone know where I can get this part? So far, not getting any call backs.

I found this mentioned in a previous MS thread too. If anyone knows someone with the CAD file I have a guy that will print it for me. IMG_9636.jpeg.3ba2bf24374495a172a2bf978bcb7203.jpeg

Does anybody know what kind of plastic that is?    If it's ABS the crack can be welded pretty easily.

Read through this post and there's a link to a 3-D printer file:
