I know the enemy of good is "better"

Does anyone have a favorite plexiglass restoration product? My windows are OK, but I would like to make them like new. I have restored car headlights - but I'm curious how others have approached this.

Thanks,

Rob

It's acrylic. Lot's of plastic polishes are available and they are all going to work. Everyone will have a favorite. I've had good luck with Novus products. If you really want to get a like new result the method is to make multiple passes with finer and finer grits. You might consider Scratch Off if you are really anal about it. It's safest (and slowest) to work it by hand. If you use a buffer, just be careful not to let the plastic overheat because that will permanently distort it.

Thanks PT-

I've had had some great results with 3m restoration on car headlights, making it look really ugly before using the finer and finer grits to make it perfect.

when the time comes, I'll work on a corner of a rear window to prove the process....

Without pictures it’s hard to tell. However, I would say that there are scenarios where an initial, high grit, wet sanding makes more sense than starting with polish. Yes it’s more aggressive but in my opinion it’s also easier to be methodical and consistent.

Anyone know of a way to help out aircraft windows that have gotten cloudy?

No, the damage is inside the glass. Best fix is replacement.
