Mark89114 Posted May 28, 2023 Report Posted May 28, 2023 Repainting and redoing my interior and painted some of the small pieces on top of a bigger piece so the overspray would help cover....CB and all. Well I was prepping that piece with the overspray and the alcohol wiped the paint off. Was not super encouraging on durability. Any thoughts or different paint products? Quote

I’ve used SEM and thought it was outstanding. No issues with adhesion. I actually thought it adhered remarkably well. I scuffed and cleaned the plastic before spraying. I believe the SEM web site recommends products and procedures for plastic prep prior to spraying. 1 Quote
PT20J Posted May 28, 2023 Report Posted May 28, 2023 SEM color coat is highly durable. It needs to be properly prepped and sprayed on to create a wet coat. Your overspray might be too light a coat and, depending on when you hit it with the alcohol, may not have bern fully cured. For best adhesion, clean the panels thoroughly (SEM has a product called SEM Soap). Then spray with SEM Solve to soften the surface and promote adhesion and then spray with Color Coat. There are Youtube videos by SEM that have all the details. 1 Quote
