Gone Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 Quote: Seth Congratulations! You made a great choice and you'll love your Mooney. I still enjoy looking out almost every flight at the edge of the wing and just think about the fact that we are indeed flying. Again, congratulations. -Seth Quote
rbridges Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 great first choice. it will probably meet your needs for years to come. Quote
NotarPilot Posted March 6, 2012 Author Report Posted March 6, 2012 I think they're all great models and thank you everyone. I looked at the C and F models as well but decided I wanted to buy my last plane first. (Hmm, where have I heard that before?) I like the longer body and I happened to find a J model with an excellent panel. As a stick shaker, I've never flown with an AP before and that S-Tec 30 with GPSS is pretty sweet. I started the 5 hours of dual instruction today for the insurance requirements before I can fly solo. I think my landings were okay for a Mooney Rookie. I will be flying it back to CA from NC with FlyDave on Saturday. Should be a fun trip. How's the weather going through New Mexico this time of year? Quote
DaV8or Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Congratulations! Good choice. All things considered, the 201 is probably the best Mooney model ever made. Quote
wishboneash Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Quote: NotarPilot Add me to the short but distinguished list of Mooney owners. After a dream 8+ years in the making I finally bought my first airplane. And after many months of deciding on an airframe I decided on a Mooney. Seems to me like the greatest personal plane out there. I think reality will set in later. Here are pictures as we parked the plane before getting its prebuy done. I'd like to thank many Mooney owners who provided me with tons of invaluable information and advice. Not to mention the familiarization flights in a Mooney. Thanks Dave. Quote

GaryP1007 Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 Congratulations! Still waiting for the day when I can post that message!! Living through everyone on here for the time being. Quote
dlthig Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Congratulations! It's an awesome feeling. My dad and I bought a Cherokee 180 nearly 20 years ago. I didn't fly it much after UPT and sold it. For the past few years I've been looking, lurking and searching. I'll pull the trigger again, but for now I'm babysitting a friend's M20J. Quote
