PT20J Posted December 16, 2022 Report Posted December 16, 2022 Garmin's GTN manual and simulator show TFRs at stadiums depicted on the map from FIS-B data. According to the FAA SBS Description Document, the source for NOTAM-TFR uplinked by FIS-B is tfr.faa.gov which only has a blanket NOTAM for sporting event TFRs and does not provide text or graphics for specific events. ForeFlight depicts stadium TFRs when connected to its server via the internet, but the source is not the FAA. In flight, ForeFlight may still show stadium TFRs left over from a previous internet connection, but they are not current data received from FIS-B. I have contacted Garmin and it confirmed that stadium TFRs will not be depicted on Garmin equipment in flight when the data source is FIS-B. Skip Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted December 16, 2022 Report Posted December 16, 2022 I remember the old days when I lived in Denver, I would fly in circles with the banner towers over Mile High stadium and watch the game…. 2 Quote

You could fly circles with F-16s now, maybe even more fun! 1 Quote
