The airplane has a 430W and I want to insure the database is updated so I ordered a new Garmin data card and a new card reader from Garmin. I installed Database Manager on my computer and bought the annual subscription. I get as far as the instruction to insert the card, but after doing so, the continue button remains dim and has no effect when pushed. I don’t want to take much of your time, but have any of you been through this and how did you resolve the issue? Thanks, Torrey 2 Quote

The new Garmin Database Manager isn't working for me. I use the older FlyGarmin app and it works. 1 Quote
Vance Harral Posted February 24, 2022 Report Posted February 24, 2022 I recently went through this with a new-to-him aircraft owner. We had trouble getting the card reader to work on a Windows 10 PC, until we installed drivers for it using the instructions at https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=MtJHYwFOg8449E5rwma5I6. The first time the card reader was plugged in, the O/S automatically installed "a" driver for it, but obviously not the correct one, as things only worked after manually installing drivers from Garmin's web site. 1 Quote

David Lloyd Posted February 24, 2022 Report Posted February 24, 2022 I have had several issues with my first iPad, Garmin Pilot, new GTX375 and new GI275s. Garmin Support was very helpful each time on the software issues. Usually a matter of setup or user. All works great now. Quote

T. Peterson Posted February 28, 2022 Author Report Posted February 28, 2022 Vance Harral posted a link to the Garmin drivers and I believe that was the solution. Of course I had to set up and follow the steps as prescribed on the Garmin website regarding database purchase and download. I also noticed that when setting up my profile on the Garmin website (required) I missed the model year of my Mooney. Therefore it defaulted to 2022. It was after I downloaded the drivers and fixed my clerical error that I was successful in downloading the update to the card. Quote
