Welfare check on MS member

Seems like gsxrpilot (Paul Steen) hasn’t been active on MS for several months (May’ish) which is odd seeing how he was very active. Any idea if he’s OK?

I looked on his Facebook. He last posted on the Mooney forum in June. And there was a steady stream of them before the last date in June he posted. Hope he is okay.

Plane flies regularly and to the same airports in Texas he frequents. Nothing unusual.

I had the good fortune to get a brief response from Paul… He is alive and well… 

I missed his input around here and went searching for him…

I’m glad you guys ask when one of us takes a break…

Thanks @carusoam, I noticed he had been summoned several times in different posts with no response from him which wasn’t normal.

I just exchanged a few text messages with Paul, and can assure everyone here he's alive and well.  I know the concern is genuine, but as many of us do from time to time, Paul's just finding an extended break away from the online lifestyle to be, and I quote, "refreshing".  I'm sure he appreciates the concern.

It would be more helpful @gsxrpilot if the more unpleasant members would take a refreshing break instead.

Sometimes people can be dicks online. I don’t mean that toward him. I’ve just seen so many forums where valuable members leave voluntarily because they don’t want to put up with others’ shit. Or they get banned because of power dynamics.

That's what happened to me on POA. I wasn't in the right clique, endured serial harassment from some who must have been. Then in a thread about the future of GA, I had the gall to quote a sitting U.S. senator on the subject. Was just a couple of hours until I had a BLOCK CAPITAL, red ink admonishment from a SuperModerator. Haven't been back since . . . .

Happy to hear that he is OK. These days you never know. I checked on somebody the other day and i was told that he had passed away due to COVID.
