P.S.--bob, are you ready for $8/gal fuel? That's what this will be for you

I'm able and willing to wait and see rather than speculate doomsday.

He has said he expects about a $.60 to $.80/gallon increase, not $2.00. Price in my area is already closer to $6/gallon in my area.

He said .60-.80c at the producer level. Based on current oil prices. That translates to at least double that increase at the pump. From reading the patent, it sounds like the fuel is about 20% xylene or toluene.  Theyre running about $2.50-$3 a gallon right now.

You can do the math

I think there's already somewhere around those proportions in avgas, so it might not be much of a change from that perspective.

It seems way to early to me to speculate on how this plays out, if it even does.   There needs to be a buy-in at many parts of the supply chain and there's still a wait-and-see about how it goes with whatever flight schools are willing to be the guinea pigs.   If it really does cost significantly more, a flight school is unlikely to be an early adopter, and without them there may not be enough field testing to get broader acceptance or get the economy of scale engine started.   If it takes somebody taking a loss selling to the guinea pigs to get it going, somebody has to be willing to step up to do that, or maybe it doesn't really cost more.    I don't know if anybody, maybe including GAMI, really knows for sure how it will all work yet.

There are too many examples in history of this sort of thing dying on the vine or taking some other odd twist that I'm not going to worry about it until or unless it actually becomes a problem of some kind.
