About to put a late model MSE into pre-buy.

I've got some good basic pre-buy basics from LASER and owned an 1979 201J 10 years ago.

Was recently re-painted 3 years ago, stripped, check etc.  Also, Wet Wingolgists did new seal on wings three years ago.

Any other 201J/MSE gotcha's that I should look for. Going to Pre-buy at a MSC, so that should help, just wondering if anyone has any other recommendations.

Also, I have about 100 Time in Type, but looking for a CFI in SE Florida that I can work with to get comfortable again with the Mooney.  Been flying Cirrus for the last decade.  Particular focus on KAP 150, engine management, etc..

Thanks,

Sal,

What are you looking for?

Have plane

picked an MSC for a PPI

you have a lot of Mooney flight experience

Are you looking for Transition Training?

Do you have the insurance already?

Insurance helps define your TT requirements...

Best regards,

I will have a plane, most likely in two-three weeks, a 201J MSE>

Insurance is NOT requiring transition training because of my 100 or so hours in type.  They want me to have a IPC within 30 days.  Even though I just had one in a Cirrus!

However, I want to work with a CFI who has good Mooney 201J experience, KAP150 and good overall knowledge of flying it.  As a CFI myself, I want to take advantage of learning, tuning and having a 3-5 hours or so working through the flying in my new Mooney!

Thanks,
Sal

MS has a great Mooney CFII in the west end of FL...

That would be my obvious preference...  find @mike_elliott...

There may be others closer to you...  but none finer...

:)

Also, find this...

There is an online resource worth finding as well called the MooneyFlyer...

MS also has a Florida section to it...   if you can’t get an answer that is suitable here...  it is possible somebody is only reading the Florida section....  :)

Yes, but even SE Florida is well over 120 miles long...from Homestead to North Palm Beach, with over 6 million residents and more than 20 airports. Unfortunately, the only MSC here is one that isn't very good at what they do.
