During this years annual I asked the mechanic to look into why my defrost wasn't working that well. He snapped this pic which shows the bottom hose (round) of the vent is not connected to the top (square hose). We looked in the parts manual. and could not find anything matching the requirement of round hose going into a square hose.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Duct tape?

Somebody really went nuts with the spiral wrap under your panel.   I wonder what that was intended to accomplish?

A square-to-round connector is tricky to fabricate.   If you can't find one, 3D printing one might be the best option, using a material suitable for the temperatures.   Alternatively, figure out where that square duct goes and perhaps change that to round if it is easier.

My defroster ducts are cheap vacuformed plastic. They have rectellipse Ports. If you take the wire out of a cat, scat, sceet duct, it will fit over the port. Then held in place by a couple of #4 screws or ty-wraps or duct tape. It all deteriorates some after a few decades.

Didn't they discover this on Apollo 13.  Took a team of engineers.  Did they use duct tape?

It's my recollection that that was the solution, yes!  ;)
