I have looked at the crossing via the Pacific as it will be a nice trip to do..... and I will have done a round the world trip...... but it means going up through Philippines, Russia..... as there is no way to have enough fuel to go across. The longest leg will be more than 10 hrs of flight. A friend did a ferry trip from the US going across the pacific and his longest flight was 14 hrs. I have installed fuel line for a ferry tank and it think we can fit a 80 gallons tank which will not be enough. I also believe that the fun is to enjoy the trip and not be 14 hrs in a cockpit above the ocean !! but that is me .... Would it not be safer to fly west bound through Asia, Europe then across the Atlantic to the states thus avoiding the longer stretch over the pacific ocean? Quote
Yves Posted June 17, 2023 Author Report Posted June 17, 2023 Yes the routing via Europe is safer and can be done without any additional fuel tank although I would recommend one to avoid multiple landings in some more challenging countries. I have installed the fuel line already to connect a ferry tank that would fit on the rear seats. Quote

aviatoreb Posted June 17, 2023 Report Posted June 17, 2023 I would not want to step foot in Russia right now. I would be worried about becoming a political prisoner. Quote

Yves Posted June 21, 2023 Author Report Posted June 21, 2023 I used 4892 liters (1292 US Gal) for the trip from Belgium to Australia. Total flight time was 67 hrs for 10800 NM. I need to check but I assume that we need an additional 600 US Gal from Belgium to the East Coast of the US. 1 Quote
