I’m planning a major revamp of my 201’s panel, and am in search of a .dxf (or other commonly-used CAD format) file containing dimensions for the panel’s outline, for the purposes of commissioning the machining of a new metal overlay.

Looking forward to hearing from anyone that may be able to assist.

Many thanks,

Jon.

Welcome aboard Jon!

There is a few discussions around here already...

Possibly a few dxf files in the downloads section...

You might want to clear up one thing... when you say overlay, what exactly do you mean?

The decorative overlay, or the panel itself?

Most Js probably didn’t get a decorative overlay...

Modern planes get get painted and silk screens with all the placards...

See if you can find what you are looking for... it probably exists already...

Check back often to see who else may have what you are looking for...

Remember, it is a big 3D challenge... there is a lot going on behind the panel as well...

Know where the yoke movement goes, and where the center tube splits in an inverted Y...

PP thoughts only,

best regards,

Thanks so much for the prompt and helpful feedback.  My J’s panel definitely does have a ‘decorative’ overlay, and it’s that I’m referring to.  I’ll see what I can find in the downloads section.

There’s one for an E, but that panel is not like the Js.
