Reposting a previous question in a better format. I'm a student pilot in Northeast TN. My plan is to buy a Mooney when I finish my PPL in a couple months. I'd love to get some seat time and will be glad to pay expenses. I did go up for a few minutes in one once before so I'm not concerned about fitment. I just want to learn more about them and make sure it's what I really want to buy from hands on standpoint.

Gubni,

You can improve your chances by editing your thread title...

You get everyone’s eyes for about five seconds... don’t waste the opportunity...

You want them to click it...

Essentially, everyone wants to help you out...

But from the current title, I can’t discern what you need... until after I’m here... I’m retired and have all day...

And with 50 great states in this fine union... there is only a small chance you and I will be close enough for lunch to make sense...

Your title currently sounds like click bait... I bet you wouldn’t click it either... :)

Best regards,

Getting a ride is easy. People love showing off their planes. The trick is finding someone near you. With Cole aviation and AGL aviation nearby, I'm sure some mooney pilots aren't too far from your location.

Sounds like you haven’t gotten far enough in your training to know that you can’t do this. 61.113c

Not if the owner is a CFI. Of course then we get into insurance issues if the OP bends something. You probably wouldn't be allowed to land the plane, our gone (but not forgotten) R182 was a lot more forgiving to more exciting landings.. However, TN is a long way away. You might consider hopping on a plane to get closer to a willing candidate.

Good morning @Gubni I live for the most part in the NE Tricities area but my plane is in KY for now. Still on waiting list for hangar down here but if I bring 1TF down here any time soon I’ll give you a shout.

Hi @Gubni, I'd be happy to help you out if a right seat hop in an M20M would be of use to you. I'm a CFI but unfortunately not set up to instruct in my Bravo and probably wouldn't do it anyway. She's not difficult to fly but she isn't a good trainer and doesn't like a training flight profile. It sounds like you're looking to get your hands on something close to what you would be wanting to buy, have you got to the point of narrowing that down yet? Some models are better than others as first airplanes but they're all AWESOME and with adequate and proper transition training will serve you well.

I'm based at Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge. I'm happy to host here or come your way. I'm retired so can work to your schedule for the most part. Send me a PM if you'd like to do this and we'll make it happen!

Thanks for the point-out Paul @gsxrpilot.

Cheers,
Rick

We are in middle TN (KSRB), and always looking for a reason to fly. What airport are you taking your lessons at? You can also add more info to your profile that can help (location, etc...)
