How about an overview of Ovation3 to Present Models?

Not super detailed but engine hp, turbo or no turbo, cruise speeds, flow rates, @ what altitude, special prop or not.  I tried searching but, got lost among the Acclaim, then Ultra, then Type S, TN.
Maybe start with the Ovation2 vs 3 differences then . . .

Ovation 2 vs 3 is 2500@280hp vs 2700@310hp

Ultra is a little cleaner but has an extra step.

AC gives up some speed.

TKS costs a little more speed. 

The ovation 2 two blade prop was fast but a dog on the ground.

The type S prop is 4-5 kts faster than the standard top prop.

Was the Ovation3 the last, or most recent, non—turbo model?  Was there an Acclaim before the Ultra, then the Type S? All Acclaims are Turbo models? Thanks.

Oh boy. I just came across an article about the first Ovation Ultra, (2017) a non-turbo with a left carbon fiber pilot door. I didn’t see a Model number.

Aclaim - Aclaim type S - Aclaim Ultra. All turbo

2nd door and cleaner airframe on the Ultra models.

Flyboy, the primary difference between the traditional O3 and the Ovation Ultra is going to be your body work and the G1000 NXi panel.  So for an extra $500K you get a pilot's side door, and a fancy-schmancy new Mid-Continent backup instrument (which admittedly is more nicely placed in between the two primary screens instead of over to the side).  Plus the added functionality of the G1000 NXi.  And redesigned rocker switches on the panel.  Some folks actually aren't fond of the new rocker switches...I personally think they look like they would break more easily, but I haven't flown one, and I'll trust the designers that they are sturdy.

They will fly the same, climb the same, cruise the same, land the same.  It's still an Ovation.  Just with that new-car smell and easier ingress/egress for the pilot.

and more comfortable seats for the long haul,. an area often not mentioned. The Ultras are very comfortable cabin wise with the new seats and the redesigned interior, not that the older models were bad. I guess its a lot like a car, sometimes the 2007 model is not a lot different than the 2019 model, just older. The 2007 Mooney's were not that much less new than the new Ultras are now, at least the 2 available new.

I've only seen photos of the ultras, but the interior struck me as being a lot more car like than previous models.

The digital evolution of the latest Ultras is really nice...

The instrument panel got right-sized to match the G1000txi screens, the BU instruments are blended into the digital backdrop.
 

The yokes even get formed to fit the hand as if if the interface needed to be optimized... 

If you have the skills to buy a new plane, and fly in the FLs... the Acclaim is the right plane for you!

 

next step... turbine and pressurized cabin... for a few AMU more...

Any chance of someone adding the alpha model number to the names in the post above?  What is a TN, U, V, etc.  If I wanted to talk about the most modern, high-flying, Mooney would it be the Acclaim Ultra, or is the Type S a different model?  Sorry, just a little slow on the uptake.

Type S got the TopProp with the thin blades for enhanced aerodynamics and better thrust...

If the marketing guys have you confused... you are not alone... 
 

Briefly... 

The first Long Body was the M20L PFM, aka Porsche Mooney... then the M20M TLS who’s name is often forgotten... as it got replaced by the Bravo model... The M20R was the next update, the Ovation got the awesome NA IO550... when the O3 arrived... it got its HP updated from 280 to 310!

1) Long Body

2) Continental TN’d IO550 comes with a pair of snails and intercoolers... Stock HP is 280 at altitude...

3) Hartzell TopProp...

4) Composite cabin roof in place of aluminum... Only M20U&V

5) Pilot side door... Only M20U&V

6) The latest in color screens and AP...

7) The name M20V Acclaim!

8) If you take away the snails... then it is the NA Ovation... M20U

9) Some Acclaim owners have bumped up the stock HP from 280 to 310... for addition T/O and climb performance....

I would get one tomorrow... if I didn’t already have a good plane...

The only thing left to decide... how high do you want to fly?

The Ovation will get you to the FLs... the Acclaim will get you further into the FLs...

I'm guessing dual turbos. From the outside they look like the shell of a snail.

The snails are best served in pairs... with their own intercoolers and MP controllers....

For additional schooling related to turbos, you need to know what mouse milk is, and where it comes from...

And... where to use it, How often...

No mice are actually used for this...
 

For some unknown reason, turbos are wrapped in mystery... as if they are exotic in nature...

If you called them air compressors, they wouldn’t cost so much...

Calling them snails, really reduces their exotic nature...
