Apologies in advance if this has been asked before. If I were to buy a used Digital Engine Monitor from eBay and were to install it in the Mooney, what would be the required documentation? It'd be great if someone could give the answers for both scenarios: N-registered and EASA-registered scenario.

Need to understand how the STC for the model you are buying works.   Some companies require you to buy a new STC.  Some have blanket STC that cover the model airplane you have

We have an MSer that specializes in used instruments... he has all the answers for things like model and STCs...
