Jeff_S Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 I saw this on BeechTalk today, but Walt Atkinson passed away from cancer on July 21. While he got a lot more coverage by name in the Beech community, his Advanced Pilot Seminars influenced how we all fly our airplanes and manage our engines. I wonder if he will fly his angel's wings LOP! 4 Quote
gsxrpilot Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 I'm very happy to have had the privilege of attending one of the last APS classes that he taught. A very fine gentleman and someone who's had an enormous influence on the GA community. Quote
Greg Ellis Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 Walt was a good guy. He never hesitated to provide advice or help. When I would e-mail him a question regarding my airplane and engine he would have an answer back to me usually in less than an hour. Can't say that for many people in the aviation community. He was a good guy and a fellow dentist. RIP. Quote
carusoam Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 Prayers for Walt! Flying west, LOP, Best regards, -a- Quote
Shadrach Posted July 28, 2020 Report Posted July 28, 2020 (edited) Never met Walt in person but he was always kind and generous when we crossed paths online. I just went back through my inbox and looked through our email exchanges. There were several, some from as far back as 2006. Walt passed on a lot of knowledge that affects how I do and think about things almost 15 years later. I am grateful that he was willing to take the time to help me expand my knowledge. Godspeed Walter... Edited July 28, 2020 by Shadrach 2 Quote
