Do ya'll think the GFC500 would work with GI-275's versus the G5?

I looked on the Garmin site and it says yes.....

So you got a quote. But will you be able to get an install in 2022?

I was talking to the Garmin dealer on the field where I am and it seems like GI-275’s and GFC500’s are available. The GTN boxes, G3X’s and G500 are several months backed up.

Keep us informed of how it goes.  I put my money down for one for my 1963 C model 4 months ago.  Come to find out Mooney had different variations to the push/pull tubes in the old Mooneys that Garmin had to go back and re-investigate.  I was told recently by Garmin that they have since solved the issue and approved a new fix to the problem but I have not heard back from my installer yet.  They are a big Garmin installer and he is on the phone with Garmin usually daily.  So keep us informed of how things go with you.

Way late in following up, but the news is all good. Garmin had the right parts for my model/serial, the shop did nice work, and I've taken a couple of long trips with the plane since then. My aircraft is now configured with one legacy VHF NAV/COMM (KX-155) and one current generation GPS/COM with no VHF nav (GNC-355). The tricky bit (for me) was coming up with decent flows to ensure I can smoothly ensure safe transition from GPS navigation to ILS/VOR approaches on the autopilot. But it does so nicely, and the workload is much easier to handle. I am well-pleased with all. Panel before and after photos attached.
