When my EDM-900 was installed the line to the manifold pressure transducer was installed as shown, with the two adel clamps holding it up and covered in fire sleeve.    Since installation last summer the fire sleeve around the clamps has turned black at a spot that I wouldn't expect to be particularly hot.   I'm wondering whether something about the way it's clamped has caused this.   Any ideas on what may have caused it or whether anything should be changed?

It’s not uncommon.  Something in the Axel clamp leaches out and affects whatever it’s clamped to.  I’ve seen painted steel mounts go the same way.

That was kinda my suspicion.   Thanks much for the input.

Typical pigment used for plastics and rubber... finely ground Carbon... aka Carbon black.

Seeing those pics I was nervous because they look like they have been broiled...

Glad Clarence has the experience and shares the knowledge!

Normally the MAP system is an aluminum line from the intake port, then a rubber hose.  Not a hose direct to the intake port.

Yes, well, this is what you get when you pay up to go the more reputable shop.    ;)
