I get emails when new planes are listed.  I don’t know anything about this plane other than this ad.  Looks like a possible good deal.(Even though we all know the potential pitfalls of this way of thinking)

30 year old engine and a panel without GPS with a 6 pack. I wouldn’t call it is good deal- I would say it’s priced right. It will sell at asking.

My bad. I read it as "why was it painted only 3 years ago".

If you look at the prop hours and prop overhaul date, you can impute that the airplane has been flown 30 hours since 2014 - almost five years!  Too bad and probably a red flag for deferred maintenance and engine corrosion.

I was out there looking at an M20C they have for sale and looked the Brovo over.  It is a very sharp plane!  Come on out to AZ the weather is good!  Let me know if I can help.

Thanks @carusoam!  1340 hours on a 28 year old engine...  I wonder if a borescope would give you good internal spalling or are there more pressing concerns.

Right concern, wrong way to look for the issue...

Lycomings... the cam location makes you want to know if the cam and it’s followers are showing any signs of corrosion...

 

Planes that sit in moist environments are more susceptible than those that fly often or are in dry environments...

 

Seeing all the cam lobes and followers requires removing cylinders...

The price on this particular Long Body is awfully low... so the fully run-out engine strategy may be priced in already...

PPIs are important...

PP thoughts only not a mechanic...

Top end overhaul (Bravo conversion) was done back in '98 at 653.4 TT.

I would be more concerned about the crankshaft in that engine.

I was considering this airplane very seriously when it was in south Tx before it went to Arizona.

Looking through the Prop log revealed a prop hub serial number change.

Being in the Prop biz I know what causes that. When the prop is trashed.

However, I seen no entries about engine tear down inspection or anything of that nature. That engine being $60-70K to O/H you would need to consider that into the price.

BUT, I do think that Aircraft is gorgeous, it’s a real head turner

I believe someone bought it.  I was also concerned about the amount of times the controls were re-rigged on this one.
