The heat shroud around the muffler should be removed every annual and the muffler should be inspected.  Preferably under low pressure and soap and water looking for bubbles. No need for cutting.

To be fair - they are not marketed as "aviation" batteries but rather camera batteries.  If they were, you can bet the decimal place would shift a couple places! :P
