NicoN
On my M20K, the cockpit door seal starts coming loose on the bottom side. That is where the two ends of the door seal profile meet. The front part end is now loose on about a distance of 6 inch. The door seal is not that bad, so I would not like to tear off the whole seal, but want to have a quick fix for the moment. Of course there is lots of glue underneath the door seal. What can I do to fasten it? Which glue ?
N201MKTurbo
3M weather strip adhesive. https://www.amazon.com/3M-MMM8001-Weatherstrip-Gasket-Adhesive/dp/B002NXZ7NW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1534109934&sr=8-4&keywords=3m+weatherstrip+adhesive Edited August 12, 2018 by N201MKTurbo
Hank
First, remove the old glue. All of it. Then you can glue it back down. Or it will soon come loose again. Sorry, I don't know whuch adhesive to use, but this is true for all.
NicoN
OKay. Sounds not as quick small repair job. What is the best method to remove the glue?
Hank
A scraper and something to soften it--Goo Gone, MEK, etc.

skydvrboy
A word of caution from experience. Be very careful with the adhesive remover, it is a much better paint remover than adhesive remover!

Brandontwalker
I have reattached the seal with rubber cement a few times. The problem is that the seal sticks to the door jam after being tied down on a hot ramp for a few days. What are y’all using to combat sticking? Talc powder, Vaseline, Teflon?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

N201MKTurbo
I can't find this adhesive. The St Clair company was acquired by Royal adhesives in 2004.
