Shadrach Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Greetings! I need the right side (passenger) instrument cover for my F. Mine has just gotten too ratty to repair. I am pretty sure that one from almost any E or F model from 66 through 69 will work. PlanePlastics has them but I need one with post lights and that they do not offer. Hopefully one of you fine folks saved your's after a panel change... I'll post a pic later! Thanks in advance!!! Quote
MooneyMitch Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Hi Shadrach. Just a thought, but have you considered purchasing the Plane Plastics panel and then adding the post lights/wiring from your old panel? Quote
Shadrach Posted March 29, 2011 Author Report Posted March 29, 2011 I have, but my post light receptacles are molded into the panel. See attachment of the left side of the panel... Quote
MooneyMitch Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Well heck. Maybe drill out the rivets on the lights and install them in the new panel with rivets or even small pan head screws. With the additional depth required on the rear of the new panel for the wiring and post lights, you could stand the panel off just a bit from the exisiting hard panel. Another thought......buy/or fabricate the new panel and install NuLites for your instruments. I did this on Jolie's E model and they work great. Also, new post lights are available from Aircraft Spruce. There's got to be more than one way to skin this cat! Quote
ELT Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 If my failing memory is correct, I have a right side spare for my 1966e. I am working in Raleigh a few days, when I return to the coast I will check my hanger. It is a lovely simulated wood grain plastic and I will check on the post lites. Quote
N601RX Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Here is a picture of the right side panel I made for my 67 F. I used nulites for lighting. http://www.mooneyspace.com/index.cfm?action=gallery&userGallery=3175 Quote
Shadrach Posted March 29, 2011 Author Report Posted March 29, 2011 Gentleman, I will use nulites when the panel get's upgraded. This year I have already rehabed a lot of the interior and I just finished hanging an IRAN'd engine (crankcase crack @ 830SMOH). I have no gumption left to fabricate an interior panel at the moment. Need to fly a bit to restore my motivation back! Quote

ELT Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Hi Ross, I checked on the right side panel cover and now know why I have one. The prior owner had purchased the cover because the cover in my plane has been patched and really needs replacing. Sorry, I will need to keep the cover. I really did not want something else to do. Sorry Eddie Quote

Steve65E-NC Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 I have flown night IFR with the little red over-head spots along. No problem. That is all that came on my airplane as certified. Quote

sreid Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 I have a brown woodgrain right side panel cover. I removed it ~4 years ago from my 67 F model. I seem to remember that it had a crack or two, but I don't think it's in too bad of condition. If you're still looking, I can take some pics tomorrow for you. Let me know. Steve Quote
