Vlakvark Posted November 22, 2017 Report Posted November 22, 2017 Good day. Hope all is staying warm and enjoying the cold flying weather. I have notice today that my instrument panel board is vibrating a bit more on the startup and taxi/runup. Is there rubber inserts behind the panel that needs to get replaced? Fly safe!!! JT Quote
carusoam Posted November 22, 2017 Report Posted November 22, 2017 Expect that there are... they are usually rubber bits on the bolts holding the panel in place... The easy way to look is find the bolts at the front and look behind the panel. My experience comes from My M20C... the K is most likely a bit more modern... Best regards, -a- Quote

0TreeLemur Posted January 22, 2018 Report Posted January 22, 2018 N201MKTurbo, where did you find the rubber panel mounts mentioned in your post of Nov. 21, 2017 in response to the thread titled: "Vibration on instrument panel board" I'm re-doing my panel on my 67 to create a six-pack, and the rubber mounts are shot. -Fred Quote
carusoam Posted January 22, 2018 Report Posted January 22, 2018 Fred, While we await Rich's @N201MKTurbo return... Take a look at these and compare to what you have... http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/inpages/15-05498.php Also Consider getting new brass acorn nuts to go with them. They are pretty easy to swap out. PP thoughts only, not an instrument panel guy... Best regards, -a- Quote
Guest Posted January 22, 2018 Report Posted January 22, 2018 (edited) Search Spruce for “Lord panel mounts” One of the studs of the mount screws into the panel substructure, the other end passes through the panel and is secured with an acorn nut. Clarence Edited January 25, 2018 by M20Doc Quote
bradp Posted January 26, 2018 Report Posted January 26, 2018 McMaster has equivalent if not superior shock mounts for ... not $15 ea. Ive found that the lord ones instantly stretch out (especially the top left) as they aren’t up to snuff for the Weight of the panel. The McMaster have different specs as to the shear strength of the mounts. They also have recessed nut versions if you want to convert from acorn nuts to screws. Every few years I’ve had to replace the shock mounts Quote
