rocketman Posted October 2, 2017 Report Posted October 2, 2017 During the Mooney Summit V meeting in Panama City Beach, Mike Elliott was awarded the 2017 FAA safety team representative of the year for his outstanding and continuous support of aviation safety by the FAA administrations Alabama Northwest Florida Flight Standards District Office. A big congrats goes to Mike and all the effort he puts into making the Mooney Summit meeting not only entertaining and fun but placing great emphasis on putting safety first on all our Mooney pilots. 18 4 Quote
Hank Posted October 2, 2017 Report Posted October 2, 2017 Congratulations, Mike! They finally heard what's been going on the last few years, and the impact you and the Summit have is getting bigger. Thanks are also due to Rocketman, who helped get everything going and remains active. The Summits are great experiences, and offer premium seminars at a price that can't be beat (provide your own transportation to the beach, plus off-peak room and board for a weekend, that's it). The seminars are interesting, relevant and not over my head. The opportunity to kick around ideas and experiences with other Mooney pilots is also great. Somehow the atmosphere is both respectful and relaxed. Looking forward to next year. P.S.--just noticed how Anthony-like this post is. Must have spent too much time with him the last few days . . . . 3 Quote
mike_elliott Posted October 2, 2017 Report Posted October 2, 2017 Thanks guys, this award really belongs to all of the attendee’s of all the Mooney Summits who have dedicated themselves to bettering the breed and becoming the best and safest stewards of general aviation. Yes, the word is spreading..Our subject matter experts are second to none. Richard Henry left re-energized to fight for bringing the PROTE chamber back on the schedule for next year. Mooney's Lance Phillips is now one of the evangelists of the Mooney Summit, and I hope the Mooney Caravan groups gained a few more disciples going forward. None of this would have been possible for all of us without the generosity of Dr. Ron and his wife JoAnn. They are the glue to the Summit's success. 5 1 Quote
