Andy95W Posted September 28, 2017 Report Posted September 28, 2017 In a previous thread I described it as "squishier". 1 Quote

My knowledge and signature aren't cheap and never will be with as much as I've invested in my career. I suspect Clarence feels the same way. My IA charges an amount for labor similar to the local body shop. I'm cool with that. Even though I've owned my plane for several years, I still get surprised at times at the price of parts. When I owned my 06 Corvette, a crate motor was under 10k. State of the art, too. Can't say the same for my O360. I know some reasons for the higher prices are out of the control of the manufacturers, but it still aggravates me at times. Quote
Jerry Pressley Posted September 28, 2017 Report Posted September 28, 2017 interested in used donuts? Quote
rbridges Posted September 28, 2017 Report Posted September 28, 2017 My doughnuts are due for replacement. If you have bladders, is there any significant reason that they need to be replaced. Quote

I replaced mine because in cool weather, the gear wouldn't go up all the way, and I'd have to listen to that blasted buzzer while flying ~10 knots slower than I should have been going! But now it's all better. Quote

Smoother ground ops, keeps the Prop farther from the things that can damage it, bladders might not suffer as bad as sealed tanks but everything else will suffer from the harsh and faulty suspension Quote
HRM Posted September 29, 2017 Report Posted September 29, 2017 I just had my donuts replaced. Ground handling and landings are noticeably better. I suggested to my IA that he purchase them from Aerowhatever (primary distributor for Lords) where he has an account. He charged me $100/ea, I have no issue with that. Labor was 10 hours @$75. I know what it takes to replace donuts, I have no issue at all with this either. I have had no end of grief out of Mercedes service on my AMG and I can guarantee they do nothing for $75/hour. I only wish my IA could service AMG I'm a happy camper. Quote

Were you able to beat the $106? @LANCECASPER helped out the cause.... got a little bit of a discount. Unfortunately both radios are acting up so I haven't had a chance to try em out yet but I suspect some of the clunking and noise during taxi will be reduced - as for the landings I probably won't notice much - ya can't improve perfection..... bwahaahhahahahha Actually waiting for a help in that area as well.
