Rhino Posted June 4, 2017 Report Posted June 4, 2017 Having to replace exhaust gaskets on my '81 231 with Continental TSIO360 LB1 due to leak on # 4 cylinder. Any recommendatons on which type of gasket which is better to replace with- Copper or metal asbestos blow proof? When removed had two flat stacked copper gaskets on each cylinder. Lasted about 350 hours on new engine installed by Don Maxwell Aviation. Quote
jetdriven Posted June 4, 2017 Report Posted June 4, 2017 Get the no-blow gaskets. Put them on clean and dry and use new nuts and torque to spec. Might also be worth checking then flanges to be sure they're straight. Quote
